About this stopwatch

A free-running stopwatch that measures elapsed time from the moment you press start. It supports laps, so you can split a run, workout, or meeting into segments without pausing the clock. The display is large and readable, updates every tick, and the stopwatch stays accurate across tabs because it is driven by the wall clock rather than a simple tick counter.

Every lap is recorded in a live list so you can review your splits and spot pace changes. Repeating the same task a few times can also replace a rough estimate with your own observed range. No account is required, and your timing data stays in your browser.

When to use a stopwatch

  • Measure your pace on runs or walking workouts with laps per kilometer.
  • Time how long recurring tasks actually take, then budget better next time.
  • Use it as a judge timer for board games, debates, or classroom activities.
  • Track the exact length of meetings and calls so you can plan your day.

Getting accurate timing

  • Start the clock when your feet actually move, not when you reach for the screen.
  • Press lap at natural checkpoints rather than glancing and guessing.
  • If the page was left open for a long time, verify the start time is what you expect before relying on the reading.
